What is Microneedling?

Microneedling also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT) is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny sterile needles. The idea is that these pinpricks from the procedure cause slight injury to the skin and the skin responds by triggering the body’s own wound healing response resulting in the production of new elastin and collagen rich tissue, which is stronger and firmer than before.

Microneedling is one of the fastest-growing trends you will see in cosmetic and anti-aging treatments. It is because microneedling is very safe, chemical free and is a minimally invasive treatment that curbs the signs of aging in any skin type and tone.

About Microneedling

SkinPen

SkinPen stimulates natural skin regeneration and boosts collagen production. Each treatment creates micro-injuries that work below the skin’s surface, helping skin renew itself. SkinPen delivers results without exposing your skin to harsh heat, lasers, or chemicals.

SkinPen was the first brand to achieve FDA clearance, meeting the highest safety and regulatory standards, with over 90 clinical studies backing its effectiveness. It features a sterile, single-use cartridge to prevent cross-contamination and advanced technology that eliminates the risk of scratching or dragging for a smooth, comfortable treatment. With adjustable needle depths, it’s customizable for individual skin concerns, remodeling skin for long-term skin improvements.

We begin by cleansing your skin and preparing the treatment area. A topical numbing cream may be applied to help keep you comfortable throughout the treatment.

Once your skin is prepared, we gently pass SkinPen over the treatment area. Each SkinPen treatment creates micro-injuries that stimulate collagen production, working below the skin’s surface to renew and repair itself. SkinPen is a quick treatment with minimal discomfort.

About Dermapen

What is the outcome of SkinPen facial?

SkinPen treatments stimulate natural collagen production and reduce the appearance of facial acne scars and neck wrinkles. Patients see ongoing benefits with a series of treatments. We recommend a minimum course of three treatments for best results, but this can be discussed during your initial consultation.

To achieve the best results, a series of multiple treatments spaced approximately four weeks apart is recommended. After completing your initial series, maintenance treatments will help sustain your results and keep your skin looking its best. Your provider will be able to tailor a plan based on your specific skin goals.

SkiPen Is Ideal For Treating

Fine Lines & Wrinkles

As we age we notice the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on our face due to the breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin, even with the best skin time will take its toll. SkinPen treatment will help reverse the signs of aging by inducing your skin’s own collagen and elastin production.

Acne Scars

SkinPen provides results that improve the appearance of acne scars. The physiological nature of microneedling can break up fibrous and uneven scar tissue, and encourage the growth of new tissue.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are tears to the connective tissue of the skin, caused by over stretching of the skin. When the connective tissue is stretched, the tear results in what’s called an epidermal atrophy along the area that has been damaged. When you micro needle your stretch marks, it helps to promote regeneration of the skin covering those stretch marks.

Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation can be caused by hormonal changes, exposure to the sun, aging or medication. Dark spots stand out and can make a person feel self-conscious. SkinPen microneedling is the most effective of all procedures used to treat pigmentation because it’s chemical free and induces the body to naturally heal itself.

Burn Scars

The challenge of a burn scar lies within the matrix of all the forms or categories of the scars involving hypertrophic and keloid scars and pigmentation flaws. These scars thicken over time. Burn scar therapy has been historically limited.

Surgical Scars

A surgical scar is a type of injury to flesh caused by surgery, usually an incision that requires the modification of all layers. Scars have altered physiology compared to other skin conditions. Multiple SkinPen microneedling treatments are recommended and may vary depending on the severity and type of surgical scar.

SkinPen is a type of microneedling device that uses a series of fine, sterile needles to create small, controlled injuries in the skin to stimulate the natural healing process and encourage collagen production.

SkinPen works by creating micro-channels in the skin, which triggers the body’s natural healing response. This, in turn, promotes collagen production and leads to healthier, more youthful-looking skin.

The benefits of SkinPen treatment include improved skin texture and tone, reduced appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and a more youthful-looking complexion.

SkinPen can be used to treat various areas of the body, including the face, neck, chest, and hands.

Yes, SkinPen treatment is generally safe and well-tolerated. After treatment, you may experience some redness and a feeling similar to a mild sunburn, which typically subsides within a day or two. Patients can resume normal activities within 24 hours, making it an easy treatment to fit into your routine.

A SkinPen treatment session typically lasts between 30-60 minutes, depending on the size and location of the treatment area.

The number of SkinPen treatments required can vary depending on the individual and the condition of their skin. Most patients require a series of 3-6 treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve optimal results.

Patients may experience mild redness, swelling, or sensitivity in the treated area for a few hours to a few days after the procedure. However, there is no downtime required after a SkinPen treatment, and patients can resume their normal activities immediately.

SkinPen treatment can cause mild discomfort or a tingling sensation during the procedure, but it is generally well-tolerated. We can use a local anesthetic to help with this.

SkinPen treatment is suitable for individuals who are looking to improve the appearance of their skin, particularly those with mild to moderate skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture.
